MODEL
Location Topic + Verb + 有 + Attached Item
Read the structure
In formal description, verbs such as 写, 刻, 印, or 列 can be followed by 有 to state that information or a mark is present on a surface or document. The location is usually the topic, the verb identifies how the item appears, and 有 introduces the attached content. Keep the model Location Topic + Verb + 有 + Attached Item visible while you compare each sentence.
书上写有他的名字。
His name is written in the book.
Choose the right context
State written information on a surface: 书上写有他的名字。 Describe an engraved pattern: 筷子上刻有漂亮的图案。 List information contained in a document: 发票上列有商品名称。
这块石头上刻有一条龙。
A dragon is carved on this stone.
Respect the boundary
Do not move 有 before the descriptive verb in this attached-information pattern. Do not omit the location topic when the surface or document is not recoverable from context. Do not use V有 as a freely productive form after verbs unrelated to marking, displaying, or containing information.
书上有写他的名字。
(On the book there is write his name.)
Repair the pattern
有 is placed before the verb that identifies the attachment: The target formal pattern is location plus descriptive verb plus 有 plus attached item: 写有他的名字. 了 splits the formal verb-plus-有 combination: 刻有 is the intact formal predicate introducing the attached design; 了 cannot split it.
书上写有他的名字。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
