In this purpose complex sentence, the first clause names an action and the clause introduced by 好 states the intended beneficial result. 好 functions like so that or in order to, often before a verb such as 帮助, 让, or 使. It does not mean good as an adjective in this connective position. Keep the model Action，(Subject) + 好 + Purpose Predicate visible while you compare each sentence.
老师布置了听写作业，好帮助学生练习汉字。
The teacher assigned dictation so as to help students practice characters.
Choose the right context
Explain why an earlier action is taken. Introduce a desired beneficial result. Use 好 before 让, 帮助, or another purpose predicate.
我们不断鼓励他，好让他有信心。
We keep encouraging him so that he gains confidence.
Respect the boundary
Do not place 好 after the purpose predicate. Do not interpret connective 好 as an adjective. Do not reverse the action and its intended purpose.
我们不断鼓励他，让好他有信心。
(We keep encouraging him, let so-that him confident.)
Repair the pattern
好 follows the purpose verb: Connective 好 must introduce the purpose predicate 好让, not follow 让. The purpose connective is stranded: 好 precedes the whole purpose predicate 好让父母放心 and cannot stand at clause end.
我们不断鼓励他，好让他有信心。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
