没有...就没有...: No A, No B in Chinese
没有…就没有…
没有...就没有... states that a result, achievement, or condition cannot exist without a necessary basis. The first clause removes the prerequisite and the second clause denies the dependent outcome. This compact pattern makes a strong dependency claim, so it should not be used when the first factor merely helps rather than being required.

MODEL

Read the structure
没有...就没有... states that a result, achievement, or condition cannot exist without a necessary basis. The first clause removes the prerequisite and the second clause denies the dependent outcome. This compact pattern makes a strong dependency claim, so it should not be used when the first factor merely helps rather than being required. Keep the model 没有 + Necessary A, 就没有 + Dependent B visible while you compare each sentence.
没有水就没有生命。
Without water, there is no life.
Choose the right context
State a necessary dependency: 没有水就没有生命。 Emphasize that an achievement depends on prior effort or support. Present a concise no-A-no-B argument.
没有你的帮助,就没有我的成功。
Without your help, there would be no success for me.
Respect the boundary
Do not use the pattern when A is only helpful but not necessary for B. Do not omit the noun or condition after either 没有. Do not insert 就 inside the first 没有 phrase.
没有就努力,没有今天的成绩。
(Without then effort, no today's achievement.)
Repair the pattern
The first prerequisite phrase is broken: The first 没有 must take the full missing prerequisite before 就 introduces the result. The dependent result is omitted: The second 没有 needs the outcome that would be absent.
没有平时的努力,就没有今天的成绩。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.

08 / QUESTIONS
没有...就没有...: No A, No B Questions
Does this pattern always describe literal existence?
No. It can express logical, social, or practical dependency, as with effort and achievement.
How strong is the claim?
It presents A as necessary for B. If A only makes B easier, a weaker causal expression is more accurate.
