Read the structure
敢 is a modal verb about having the courage to perform an action. It stands before the verb phrase, while 不 normally comes directly before 敢 to deny that courage. Questions may use 敢不敢 or place 吗 at the end of the complete clause. Keep the model Subject + 敢 / 不敢 + Verb phrase visible while you compare each sentence.
我敢一个人去。
I dare to go alone.
Choose the right context
Ask whether someone has the courage to act: 你敢试吗? Admit hesitation with 不敢 before the action. Describe a bold willingness when risk or fear is relevant.
他不敢在河里游泳。
He does not dare swim in the river.
Respect the boundary
Do not use 敢 for ordinary ability; use 会 or 能 instead. Do not place 敢 after the action it governs. Do not insert a sentence-final question particle inside the verb phrase.
我一个人去敢。
(I go alone dare.)
Repair the pattern
The modal is placed after the action: 敢 must precede the verb phrase it governs; the modal cannot be stranded after the completed action 一个人去. The question particle splits the verb phrase: Sentence-final 吗 must follow the complete clause and cannot split 在河里游泳.
我敢一个人去。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
