Emphatic Double Negation in Chinese
双重否定
Mandarin can combine two negatives to affirm a proposition emphatically. Patterns such as 没有人不… express an exceptionless set, while 不可能不… and 不会不… strongly assert necessity or expectation. Both negative members are required in their designated slots; deleting or misplacing one changes the logical force.

Keep the model 没有 + Noun + 不 + Predicate; 不可能/不会 + 不 + Verb visible while you compare each sentence.
没有学生不喜欢这位老师。
Every student likes this teacher.
Choose the right context
Use 没有 + person + 不 to assert that everyone has the property. Use 不可能不 before an action to emphasize unavoidable participation. Use 不会不 to make a strong expectation about a response.
这么重要的会议,我不可能不参加。
I cannot possibly miss such an important meeting.
Respect the boundary
Do not insert an object between 不可能 and its second 不. Do not add aspect marking between a negative modal and the governed verb. Do not interpret the pattern as ordinary negative agreement; its two negatives yield affirmation.
我不可能会议不参加。
(I cannot possibly miss the meeting.)
Repair the pattern
Object interrupts the paired negatives: The fixed modal sequence 不可能不 must stay before the verb; object 会议 follows 参加. Aspect marker splits negative modal and verb: 了 cannot occur between the second 不 and the verb it negates; the emphatic sequence directly governs 答应.
我不可能不参加会议。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.

08 / QUESTIONS
Emphatic Double Negation Questions
Does double negation always sound emphatic?
These patterns do; other combinations may instead express qualified or partial negation.
Is 没有人不喜欢 equivalent to 大家都喜欢?
Their truth conditions are close, but the double negative stresses the absence of exceptions.
