Read the structure
得了 is a spoken discourse marker that dismisses a proposal, cuts off an unhelpful line of talk, or signals that the speaker has heard enough. 得了吧 often adds skeptical or impatient evaluation. Its force depends on context and tone; this lesson does not cover literal 得到 or complement-marker 得. Keep the model 得了(吧),+ Clause / Response: 得了! visible while you compare each sentence.
得了吧,他不会同意的。
Come on, he will not agree.
Choose the right context
Dismiss a proposal the speaker considers unrealistic in the current conversation. Stop repetitive or unhelpful talk after the point is already clear. Express skeptical or impatient evaluation in conversation.
得了,别再说这件事了。
Enough, stop talking about this matter.
Respect the boundary
Do not reverse the fixed two-character expression. Do not split 得了 with clause material. Do not confuse discourse 得了 with the complement marker 得.
了得吧,他不会同意的。
(Le get, he will not agree.)
Repair the pattern
The fixed expression is reversed: The discourse marker keeps the fixed order 得了, optionally followed by 吧. Clause material splits the discourse marker: 得了 is an intact discourse marker; the following clause comes after it.
得了吧,他不会同意的。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
