Read the structure
Sentence-final 吧 can soften a suggestion or prompt, as in 我们走吧, and can seek confirmation of a supposition, as in 您是经理吧. Intonation and context separate the two readings. In both uses, 吧 follows the complete clause rather than introducing it or splitting the predicate. Keep the model Suggestion or Command + 吧; Confirmation Statement + 吧? visible while you compare each sentence.
我们走吧。
Let us go.
Choose the right context
Make a shared suggestion: 我们走吧。 Soften a short prompt or command: 你坐吧。 Ask for confirmation when the speaker already has a tentative expectation.
你坐吧。
Have a seat.
Respect the boundary
Do not put 吧 at the beginning of the sentence. Do not insert 吧 inside a verb phrase or before a complement such as 一下. Do not use this suggestion reading for every 吧; context can also mark a supposition.
吧我们走。
(Let us go.)
Repair the pattern
吧 placed at the beginning of a suggestion: Suggestion 吧 is a sentence-final particle. It follows the complete proposal 我们走 rather than introducing it. 吧 inserted before a verb complement: 一下 completes the verb phrase 休息一下. The final particle 吧 must come after that complete phrase.
我们走吧。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
