Read the structure
A reduplicated classifier such as 个个, 家家, or 次次 distributes a statement over every relevant member or occurrence. The repeated form stays together and commonly serves as the topic or an adverbial before the predicate. It cannot be combined with 们 on the same noun phrase or split by another quantity. Keep the model AA (+ 都) + Predicate visible while you compare each sentence.
这些学生个个都很认真。
Every one of these students is diligent.
Choose the right context
Say every member shares a property: 个个都很认真。 Describe every household or occurrence: 家家都开门。 Emphasize repetition across occasions: 次次都准时。
过年时家家都很热闹。
Every household is lively during New Year.
Respect the boundary
Do not add 们 to an already distributive reduplicated form. Do not split the two classifier syllables. Do not use classifier reduplication for one single counted object.
学生个个们都来了。
(The students every-ones all came.)
Repair the pattern
Plural 们 is added to a distributive form: 个个 already distributes over all members and cannot take the plural suffix 们. A number splits the repeated classifier: Use either classifier reduplication 个个 or the grouped pattern 两个两个; the repeated unit cannot be split and mixed.
学生个个都来了。
