Read the structure
越发 marks a quality, attitude, or tendency as becoming stronger after a change or against an earlier state. It normally precedes an adjectival or stative predicate and often follows a cause, new information, or 随着 phrase. Unlike 越来越, it is a single adverb and cannot be split around the predicate. Keep the model Changed circumstance + Subject + 越发 + Predicate visible while you compare each sentence.
听到这个消息,同学们越发有热情了。
After hearing the news, the students became even more enthusiastic.
Choose the right context
Show enthusiasm increasing after news arrives. Describe a tendency strengthening as circumstances change. Contrast a later state with an earlier baseline.
随着年龄的增长,他越发不喜欢旅行了。
As he grew older, he increasingly disliked travelling.
Respect the boundary
Do not split 越 and 发 around the predicate. Do not place 越发 after the adjective it modifies. Do not use it for a fixed degree with no change or comparison over time.
她越相信这个团队发。
(She more trusted this team increasingly.)
Repair the pattern
越发 is split around the predicate: 越发 is one inseparable degree adverb and must remain together before 相信. The adverb follows the predicate: 越发 modifies the following stative predicate and therefore precedes 不喜欢.
她越发相信这个团队。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
