一方面...另一方面... presents two coordinated aspects, reasons, considerations, or perspectives concerning one topic. The two clauses may be parallel or contrastive, and 另一方面 does not itself require contradiction. This analytical pattern is especially useful for explaining a situation from two sides; it is not the simultaneous-action pattern expressed by 一边...一边....

Read the structure
一方面...另一方面... presents two coordinated aspects, reasons, considerations, or perspectives concerning one topic. The two clauses may be parallel or contrastive, and 另一方面 does not itself require contradiction. This analytical pattern is especially useful for explaining a situation from two sides; it is not the simultaneous-action pattern expressed by 一边...一边.... Choose the right context
To present two things that both matter: 这件事一方面要看价格，另一方面也要看质量。 To list two reasons or effects concerning one topic: 这个办法一方面节省时间，另一方面也很方便。 To show two different considerations, often with 又 in the second clause: 他一方面想去，另一方面又担心时间不够。
这件事一方面要看价格，另一方面也要看质量。
For this matter, we need to consider the price on one hand and the quality on the other.
Respect the boundary
For two actions happening at the same time; use 一边...一边... when simultaneity is the intended relation. Do not assume the second aspect must contradict the first; the two parts can also be parallel and mutually supportive. Do not place both markers before the first aspect or insert 另一方面 inside a verb-object phrase.
这个办法一方面另一方面节省时间，也很方便。
(This method saves time on one hand and is also convenient on the other.)
Repair the pattern
Both markers are stacked before the first aspect: 一方面 introduces the first complete aspect; 另一方面 must wait until the second aspect begins. 另一方面 is inserted between a verb and its object: 另一方面 introduces the whole second clause and cannot split 提高 from its object 效率.
这个办法一方面节省时间，另一方面也很方便。

When to Use It — and When Not To
Use it when
- To present two things that both matter: 这件事一方面要看价格，另一方面也要看质量。
- To list two reasons or effects concerning one topic: 这个办法一方面节省时间，另一方面也很方便。
- To show two different considerations, often with 又 in the second clause: 他一方面想去，另一方面又担心时间不够。
Do not use it when
- For two actions happening at the same time; use 一边...一边... when simultaneity is the intended relation.

What is the difference between 一方面...另一方面... and 一边...一边...?
一方面...另一方面... organizes two aspects or viewpoints about one topic and often sounds analytical. 一边...一边... normally describes two actions occurring at the same time.
Can 也 or 又 appear after 另一方面?
Yes. 也 commonly reinforces a parallel relation, while 又 often helps present another or potentially competing consideration. Their use depends on the intended relation.
