倘若/若…就…
倘若 and 若 introduce a hypothetical condition in formal or literary language. The consequence may be marked by 就 or 那么, though context can make these optional. Compared with 如果 and 假如, 倘若 is less conversational and often appears in careful argument, written advice, or imagined reasoning.

Read the structure
倘若 and 若 introduce a hypothetical condition in formal or literary language. The consequence may be marked by 就 or 那么, though context can make these optional. Compared with 如果 and 假如, 倘若 is less conversational and often appears in careful argument, written advice, or imagined reasoning. Keep the model 倘若 / 若 + Condition, 就 + Main result visible while you compare each sentence.

Choose the right context
Frame a formal hypothesis: 倘若这些问题都能解决，计划就可以继续。 Use 若 as a concise written conditional. Discuss imagined consequences in formal argument or advice.
若情况有变，请及时通知我们。
If the situation changes, notify us promptly.
Respect the boundary
Use 如果 for a neutral everyday conditional when formality adds no value. Do not place 就 before the hypothesis is complete. Do not leave 倘若 or 若 without a condition clause.
倘若就这些问题能解决，计划继续。
(If then these problems solve, plan continues.)
Repair the pattern
The result marker is inserted into the condition: 就 belongs in the consequence clause after the complete 倘若 condition. The formal conditional has no predicate: 若 must introduce a complete condition such as 我们无法到场.
