Read the structure
A basic Mandarin quantity phrase combines a number with a classifier and may then name the counted noun. The whole phrase can serve as subject, object, or complement of 有. The classifier is grammatical, not optional decoration, and must match the semantic type of the noun being counted. Keep the model Number + Classifier + Noun visible while you compare each sentence.
桌子上有两本书。
There are two books on the table.
Choose the right context
Count people or things with a number, classifier, and noun. Use a quantity phrase after 有 to state how many entities exist. Use a complete quantity phrase as the object of a transitive verb.
我们家有三口人。
There are three people in my family.
Respect the boundary
Do not omit the classifier between a number and an ordinary count noun. Do not reverse the number and classifier. Do not place the head noun between the number and classifier.
桌子上有两书。
(There are two books on the table.)
Repair the pattern
Number directly modifies a count noun: 书 is an ordinary count noun and requires the classifier 本 between the number and noun. Number and classifier reversed: A quantity phrase begins with its number; the required order is 三+口+人.

Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
