Disposal Patterns in 把 Sentences in Chinese
把字句表处置
A disposal 把 sentence foregrounds how an action affects a known object. At this stage, the predicate may contain verb reduplication, 了 or 着, 给 before the verb, or a verbal or duration measure. The verb phrase must describe a sufficiently bounded treatment or outcome; an isolated bare verb normally cannot complete this construction.

Read the structure
A disposal 把 sentence foregrounds how an action affects a known object. At this stage, the predicate may contain verb reduplication, 了 or 着, 给 before the verb, or a verbal or duration measure. The verb phrase must describe a sufficiently bounded treatment or outcome; an isolated bare verb normally cannot complete this construction. Keep the model Subject + 把 + Definite Object + Bounded Verb Phrase visible while you compare each sentence.
你把地扫扫,我把桌子擦一擦。
You sweep the floor a little, and I will wipe the table.
Choose the right context
Focus on what is done to a known object. Add a bounded action, aspect marker, or measure after the verb. Use 给 before a colloquial disposal predicate when context supports it.
你别忘了把护照带着。
Do not forget to keep your passport with you.
Respect the boundary
Do not put the object before 把 in the core frame. Do not leave the main verb without required following material. Do not place a verbal measure before the verb it counts.
我把扫地扫。
(I ba sweep floor sweep.)
Repair the pattern
The object and verb are reversed after 把: The affected object 地 follows 把, and the bounded reduplicated verb 扫扫 follows that object. The verbal measure precedes its verb: The verb 读 precedes the verbal measure 三遍 inside the 把 predicate.
我把地扫扫。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.

Compare the smallest meaningful change. Each explanation identifies a placement, scope, form, or clause relationship instead of treating the whole sentence as one undifferentiated mistake.

Practice the Grammar Point
Complete three short tasks in order: judge the pattern, repair a common error, and build the sentence. Feedback is fixed and reviewed, so these activities do not use a checker allowance.

08 / QUESTIONS
Disposal Patterns in 把 Sentences Questions
Why is a bare verb usually insufficient after 把?
The construction normally presents a bounded disposal or effect, so the predicate commonly needs a complement, object, aspect marker, reduplication, or measure.
Is 给 required in a disposal 把 sentence?
No. It is an optional colloquial element in certain patterns, not a general requirement for all 把 sentences.
