MODEL
Subject + Time Adverb + Predicate
Read the structure
These adverbs locate or frame a situation relative to time. 刚 and 刚刚 place an event shortly before a reference point, 一直 presents continuity, 已经 marks an attained stage, 还 can continue a situation, and 忽然 introduces an abrupt change. They normally stand before the predicate they modify. Keep the model Subject + Time Adverb + Predicate visible while you compare each sentence.
我刚从学校回家。
I just came home from school.
Choose the right context
Place a recent event with 刚 or 刚刚. Show continuation with 一直 or 还. Mark an attained state with 已经 or an abrupt event with 忽然.
她一直在说话。
She has been talking continuously.
Respect the boundary
Do not place the adverb after a completed verb-object phrase. Do not use 刚 alone to modify a bare clock reading. Do not stack time adverbs whose meanings contradict in the same scope.
她在说话一直。
(She is talking continuously.)
Repair the pattern
The time adverb is stranded after its predicate: 一直 must precede the predicate whose duration it frames. 刚 incorrectly modifies a clock reading without an event: 刚 locates a recent event or change; 已经 correctly presents two o'clock as an attained time.
她一直在说话。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.

Core Time Adverbs: 刚, 一直, and 已经 Questions
Are 刚 and 刚刚 identical?
