Continuous State Complement with 个 in Chinese
个不停/个没完
The complement frame verb+个+不停/没完 portrays an action continuing excessively or without an endpoint. Here 个 is a complement introducer, not an ordinary nominal classifier. It follows the action verb directly, and the fixed continuation expression follows 个; aspect, objects, and other particles cannot interrupt those mandatory positions.

Read the structure
The complement frame verb+个+不停/没完 portrays an action continuing excessively or without an endpoint. Here 个 is a complement introducer, not an ordinary nominal classifier. It follows the action verb directly, and the fixed continuation expression follows 个; aspect, objects, and other particles cannot interrupt those mandatory positions. Keep the model Verb + 个 + 不停/没完 visible while you compare each sentence.
那个小女孩儿哭个不停。
That little girl kept crying without stopping.
Choose the right context
Use verb+个不停 for uninterrupted continuation. Treat 个 as part of the complement frame, not as a freely selected object classifier. Use verb+个没完 for an action that seems endless. Use it mainly with durative speech, crying, asking, or similar activities.
他在我们面前说个没完。
He talked endlessly in front of us.
Respect the boundary
Do not insert aspect inside the 个不停 complement. Do not omit 个 from this complement frame. Do not put an object inside 个不停 or 个没完.
那个小女孩儿哭个了不停。
(That little girl kept crying without stopping.)
Repair the pattern
Aspect marker splits the fixed complement: 个不停 is the intact continuation complement; aspect 了 cannot split it. Object splits the fixed complement: 个不停 is the complete continuation complement; structural 的 cannot split 不停.
那个小女孩儿哭个不停。
Use the repaired structure without changing the intended meaning.
